Scrutton Bland Group is a leading provider of financial services and advice to both business and private clients, and we have an exciting opportunity for a conscientious and driven individual to join our Audit team as a Senior Audit Associate.
What Will You Do?
You will play a key role in the success of our department. You will have the opportunity to undertake audits for a range of clients across a variety of sectors, offering the variety of working with both our commercial and not-for-profit clients, including those within the education sector. You'll gain hands on experience in delivering a first class audit service to our clients.
The role responsibilities include:
- Assistance with planning audits in advance of audit fieldwork, ensuring it appropriately addresses identified risks and achieves audit objectives
- Undertaking audits of commercial and not-for-profit clients including education clients
- Complete audit work to a high standard with minimal supervision
- Working to and meeting internal and external deadlines whilst taking responsibility for meeting budgets
- Recommending improvements to clients' accounting systems and controls
- Clear and timely communication with assistant manager or manager of any matters arising during the course of the audit
- Ensuring more junior members of the team understand their responsibilities, providing appropriate on-the-job training
- Drafting individual and consolidated financial statements (primarily UK GAAP)
- Maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients and colleagues
What We're Looking For
- You will have at least 18 months audit experience, ideally in a Practice environment
- You will be studying towards your ACA/ACCA qualification, or be AAT Qualified as a minimum
- Full driving license and access to independent transport
- Be competent using Microsoft Office and other software applications.
- The ability to manage a varied workload
- A team player who enjoys working as part of a busy team to achieve team targets
- Organised, efficient and able to prioritise your own workload
- Maintain an internal and external network via strong working relationships with colleagues and clients
- Build and maintain an understanding of our audit methodology and Caseware audit software

- Salary is dependent on how far along in your studies alongside your experience level, but once qualified you can expect to be on a minimum of GBP 40,000 per annum
- Sign on bonus of GBP 3,000 (half paid upon joining with the remainder paid upon successful pass of probation period)
