Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

As a part of our dynamic Tax and Trust Compliance (TTC) team you will handle complex tax advice, personal tax returns, company accounts, trust accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, payroll, and HMRC enquiries as well as general tax advice. As a Senior Associate Tax Advisor, you will provide technical support to the team and manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring they meet all tax obligations. Based in Chichester, the role will also involve working closely and having a presence with our London office, in particular our High Net Worth International team in London.

In due course this may become a leadership role for the Chichester team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and conduct complex tax and trust cases.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax returns and other financial documents.
  • Advise clients on tax issues and strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Research and interpret tax legislation.
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Supervise and train junior team members.
  • Provide technical support to partners and senior team members.
  • Engage in business development activities to expand the TTC team's client base
  • Engage with the wider Private Client team, particularly in London

About You

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, CTA, or ATT, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in tax/trust roles dealing with complex matters.
  • Broad knowledge covering individuals, trusts, estates, and corporates.
  • Excellent IT skills, including case management systems and tax software.
  • Strong numeracy, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide expert tax advice and solve complex problems.
  • Proven supervisory experience and ability to train junior team members.
  • Excellent communication skills to inspire confidence in clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proactive in seeking new business opportunities and advocating for change.
  • Extensive experience and track record advising domestic and international HNW individuals and their structures in respect of their tax affairs and succession planning.
