Job Description
The role will look to mitigate risk, optimise and enhance existing assets, recycle capital, and support new origination through strategic solutions, to deliver value to both Shawbrook and our customers
The role will support the Risk Distribution team, to help manage the risk profile of the book, including:-
- Portfolio Solutions
- Agency
- Syndications
- Sub-Participations with 3rd party lenders
- Credit Insurance
- Asset sales
The role will look to support the forward look Enterprise strategy aimed at continued success in our chosen market, supporting origination activities (syndicated facilities) and helping to ensure originated assets are structured in a manner to maximise both future distribution options and the optimum capital treatment (increasing returns).
The role will have ongoing responsibilities for solutions delivered - e.g. ongoing day to day management any existing of future distribution strategies, providing agency activities for syndicated facilities - this will ensure effective segregation of duties.
The role will include cross divisional collaboration on real estate data and strategy

Key Responsibilities
- Support execution of approved distribution strategies - including due diligence exercises including portfolio audits and other readiness requirements, together with supporting negotiations and documentation
- Managing post execution in-life activities - including management of any existing of future distribution strategies and providing Agency activities for syndicated facilities
- Preparing information packs for 3rd party investors / lenders
- Progress requested amendments to legal documentation (e.g. requested amendments, restructures, and facility enhancements)
- Support in the ongoing cross divisional collaboration on real estate data and strategy
- Liaising with 3rd parties as required
- Manage credit, legal and compliance risks through effective controls
- Manage ongoing due diligence, including KYC/AML. Identify & report any compliance breaches, errors, and potential frauds. Report all issues of regulatory concern to Compliance. Communicate and escalate potential issues / risks in a prompt and effective manner
- To deliver excellent customer service and added value
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships across the wider organisation & 3rd parties
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and records as well as detecting errors.
- The role will report to a member of the Risk distribution team
Qualifications
- Quantitative Degree/CFA or similar business qualification or equivalent work experience appropriate to the role
- Previous experience in bank lending or similar, with a particular focus real estate, SME lending and Agency function activities
- Compliance and governance experience would be considered a positive.
Technical/Specialist Knowledge & Skills
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel, being able to manage and handle complex issues.
- Strong understanding and analysis of Financial Information
- Good knowledge of Real Estate and SME lending structures, including familiarity with legal documentation.
- Industry knowledge in the real estate and SME markets
- Good understanding of lending practices, including structures, risks and covenant requirements.
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
- Thorough comprehension of credit risk management and credit administration
- Compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Good commercial, financial acumen and capability in strategic thinking, executive level reporting and effective business planning

- Confident, ambitious, and good teamwork skills combined with being able to interact within a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
