Job overview

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Associate to join our London Real Estate team. This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside leading practitioners on complex, high-value matters for a diverse client base, including institutional investors, developers, corporates, and public sector bodies.

Professional Excellence

  • Advise on a broad range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, development projects, joint ventures, and co-investments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex documentation with a high degree of technical accuracy and commercial awareness.
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for progressing both straightforward and complex matters, ensuring deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded.

Client

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, developing a deep understanding of their commercial objectives and providing tailored, pragmatic advice.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to add value and cross-sell the firm's services.
  • Demonstrate confidence and effectiveness in negotiations, representing clients' interests robustly and professionally.
  • Work closely with partners and the business development team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Maintain and expand a network of industry contacts, proactively seeking to introduce clients to other practice areas and offices within the firm.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and client developments to inform strategic business development initiatives.

People & Team

  • Lead and manage teams on complex transactions, providing guidance and support to junior lawyers and trainees.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, offering regular, constructive feedback and mentoring to promote professional growth.
  • Contribute to the team's knowledge base, participating in training and know-how initiatives.

Quality and Risk Management

  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the highest standards of quality and risk management in all work undertaken.
  • Identify and address inconsistencies or issues promptly, safeguarding the firm's reputation and client interests.

Essential skills and experience

Senior level lawyer with real estate and investment or development experience;

  • Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with significant post-qualification experience (ideally 5+ years PQE) gained at a leading law firm.
  • Extensive experience in corporate real estate, including investment and development transactions, joint ventures, and co-investments.
  • Proven track record of managing complex matters and leading teams effectively.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, commercially focused advice.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, with a client-centric approach to service delivery.
  • Collaborative team player, committed to supporting colleagues and contributing to the wider success of the team.
  • Proactive, commercially astute, and adaptable, with a genuine interest in the real estate sector and its ongoing evolution.
