This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

This is a full-time position based in London with frequent travel, reporting directly to the CIO.

Apeiron Investment Group is a discretionary investment firm founded by serial entrepreneur Christian Angermayer. Driven by deep optimism, we believe in a future where technology enables people to live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. Among our daring achievements, we take particular pride in spearheading the renaissance of psychedelics as transformative treatments for mental health issues.

With a team located across London, Berlin, New York, Abu Dhabi, and Malta, we deploy a multi-strategy investment model that operates globally, with a primary focus on the US.

Our activities encompass direct investments in companies as well as anchor LP and minority GP stakes in emerging asset managers. Leveraging our proprietary balance sheet, our direct investment approach spans the entire company lifecycle-from incubating brave ideas to scaling growth-stage businesses to significant investments in publicly listed companies.

We work across many sectors and technologies, but have focus on crypto, AI, deep tech, life sciences, real estate as well as experiences, hospitality, and sports.

As a Senior Associate in our Investments team, you will play a critical role in managing and expanding the firm's private investment strategies, including incubations, direct investments, and direct fund commitments.

A significant portion of your responsibilities will involve actively monitoring and optimizing the performance of existing portfolio investments. You will also engage with fund managers and founders, proactively sourcing and conducting due diligence on new investment opportunities and overseeing the diligence work of Associates.

Additional responsibilities include financial modelling and analysis of fund and company returns, managing the deal pipeline, and contributing to data analysis for research and internal projects. A portion of your role will involve supporting the firm's operations, including firm-building initiatives such as recruiting or contributing to marketing efforts.

Requirements

    • Bachelor's/Master's degree and outstanding academic record from a top-tier university in Finance, Economics, a technical or scientific field, or a related discipline.
    • 4+ years of experience in capital allocation, asset management, venture capital, or private equity investing or other investment role, with extensive network and proven track record leading deals from initial diligence through closing.
    • Mastery of Excel, significant experience creating and evaluating financial models.
    • Passion for entrepreneurship, and extensive knowledge of and interest in the venture capital, growth and technology landscape.
    • A naturally high level of empathy towards founders and managers, with demonstrated ability of going above and beyond in supporting a portfolio.
    • High degree of professional presence including clear communication, ownership of work output, and timely, accurate and reliable deliverables.
    • A proactive self-starter, capable of steering projects to fruition independently, yet also a strong team player that contributes to a collaborative, fun and supportive team culture.
    • Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities

    • Portfolio Management: Actively monitor, manage, and report on existing portfolio investments, collaborating with fund managers and founders to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and identify areas for growth and additional value creation.
    • Investment Screening: Research, source, and evaluate potential investment opportunities across sectors, stages, and geographies of interest to the firm.
    • Investment Execution: Structure investment rounds, negotiate term sheets, and work with legal teams to finalise deal documentation.
    • Venture Building: Support the incubation of new businesses and serve as a sparring partner to founders, providing strategic and operational guidance as they build and scale their ventures.
    • Financial Modelling and Analysis: Construct, maintain, and refine intricate financial models and cap tables to underpin our decision-making process.
    • Industry Analysis: Stay abreast of industry movements, market trends, and emerging technologies, to both refine and expand our investment theses.
    • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams and support and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
    • Firm Building: Support the firm's recruiting efforts, marketing initiatives, and operational processes to contribute to the organization's growth and success.
