Senior Associate - Data Privacy

Summary of the role: The individual will work closely with and support the Global Head of Data Privacy ("GHDP") to ensure all necessary compliance documentation required under the GDPR is in place and that a comprehensive review and monitoring process for data protection compliance is implemented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist with the review and maintenance of Records of Processing Activities across the different legal entities and business functions and a process for their ongoing maintenance across the Group.
  • To assist and support business with Data Protection Impact Assessments, Third-Party Vendor Management Process, due diligence questionnaires across the Group.
  • To manage annual review of data protection policies, procedures and processes with relevant stakeholders across the Group.
  • Support the GHDP in driving out strategic initiatives across the Group.

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required..

Education

  • An internationally recognised professional qualification or bachelor's degree in business, financial services or law.

Experience

  • At least 2 years working in a compliance, legal or data protection role is preferred.
  • Experience in financial services is advantageous but not essential.
  • Analytical/critical thinking, building relationships, organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment including reporting and providing support to Waystone teams.

Desirable

  • Experience in handling personal Data Breaches.
  • Experience in dealing with Data Subjects.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft productivity tools - Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
