We are looking to recruit a Senior Associate / Associate into our Dispute Resolution team in our Liverpool Office. You will be working in a team environment acting on behalf of legal expense insurers and their insured customers.

About the role

Our team operates across three key areas: real property, residential landlord and tenant, and commercial landlord and tenant. You'll have the opportunity to work within each of these domains as needed.

Your role involves managing a caseload of property litigation cases. You'll focus on trespass, nuisance, and property damage claims from a real property perspective. Additionally, you'll handle forfeiture, property/land possession recovery, and rent recovery within the landlord and tenant context.

Expect a diverse range of work, varying in value and complexity. You'll provide legal advice, pragmatic solutions, and assessments throughout the litigation process. Collaborating closely with colleagues, barristers, and experts, you'll ensure high service standards both internally and externally.

About you

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

Legal Expertise:

  • Understand real property claims, including trespass and nuisance matters.
  • Familiarity with possession proceedings in residential landlord and tenant cases.
  • Knowledge of litigation processes related to commercial landlord and tenant matters.
  • Awareness of the Civil Procedure Rules.

Case Management and Technical Skills:

  • Responsible for case management during proceedings, adhering to directions.
  • Draft and settle particulars of claim.
  • Prepare witness statements.
  • Proactively manage workload, meeting service level agreements.
  • Research solutions and contribute technical expertise.

Business Development and Values:

  • Contribute to revenue generation through existing business activity and networking.
  • Challenge the status quo and propose innovative ways of working.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the firm's values and CSR agenda.
