DWF LLP is seeking to recruit a Senior Associate Solicitorwith strong experience of transactional (non-contentious) constructionmatters.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding Construction team, working on projects across the UK and internationally with a number of Partners and a supportive and collegiate team.

The role will offer the right candidate frontline experience on construction matters supporting the wider expanding Real Estate, Corporate, Commercial, Planning and Finance teams together with non-contentious opportunities arising from our strong global construction disputes team.

The ideal candidate will be based in our Edinburgh office (Newcastle may also be an additional location that can be considered) and will work as part of the UK team with opportunities for hybrid working.

The non-contentious workload comprises development work with specific sector exposure to retail, housing, student accommodation, hospitality and regeneration, as well as advising on infrastructure and energy projects.

Knowledge and experience in drafting and revising contracts and appointments for a range of projects and parties is essential for this non-contentious role. However, there is a strong network of lawyers around the UK to share expertise, training and sector/client-specific knowledge.

The clients include a mix of regional, national and international companies, financing institutions, central government and local authorities to which the team provides the full range of non-contentious and contentious construction services.

You will be joining an innovative legal business embracing change and disruption to optimise service to clients, working within a team that is collegiate and has an inclusive culture.

As a Senior Associate Solicitor in our Construction & Infrastructure team, you will engage in a wide range of activities, such as:

  • Providing pre-contractual procurement advice and preparing and negotiating construction documentation.
  • Supporting national and international clients
  • Providing project advisory advice.

Our team is involved in some of the most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects globally, including within the transport, energy, and utilities sectors. You will work closely with clients to provide practical, clear, and robust legal advice, ensuring their commercial objectives are met. Your role will also involve collaborating with colleagues to deliver innovative solutions and maintaining the highest standards of client service.

What will help you succeed in this role?

Desirable Criteria:

  • Solid experience in construction law.
  • Build working relationships internally and externally in order to develop business networks and create a solid understanding of the business direction and client needs.
  • Prioritise work effectively and to maximise efficiency in working practices.
