As the largest residential landlord in the city, the Housing and Landlord Services Team has a key role in ensuring our existing and new homes are safe, secure, affordable, and sustainable.
We are looking Investment Planning Manager to work with us for a 6-month period while we seek to fill the role on a permanent basis. If you are interest, this opportunity could lead to a permanent position shaping and managing a +£100m annual budget.
What will I be doing?
The Investment Planning Manager will be responsible for delivering the following:
- Project Manage the annual Housing budget setting process.
- Producing and maintaining top-down and bottom-up 2, 5, 10, 30 year and life-cycle year investment scenarios. (Revenue and CAPEX).
- Undertake Appraisal Analysis for required investment decisions that quantify the value-for-money.
- Implement and deliver a proactive stakeholder management process so the investment plans are supported by BCC.
- Lead and maintain the efficiency and innovation opportunities programme.
You will be part of the Asset Strategy Team, whose responsibilities range from establishing the 30-year housing investment plan worth billions, to identifying the properties to receive new kitchens and bathrooms in the next 12 months. Do I have what you are looking for?
- Significant experience in investment planning and financial forecasting.
- A capability to undertake economic appraisal of investment needs including quantification of one-off and ongoing costs, benefits quantification, NPV analysis, risk analysis and report preparation.
- A capability to undertake data analysis and generate report describing the approach and findings. This includes the ability to use MS Excel or other data analysis software products.
- Ability to lead, motivate and develop technical staff, collaborating and providing technical advice and supporting staff development.
- Ability to use and apply project management methodology - accurately and effectively in the delivery of work packages.
- Ability to identify and secure opportunities for collaboration across services and partners and implement resultant capabilities and products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to understand, negotiate and deliver effective information and analysis products to a wide range of audiences.
- An understanding of supply chain planning including demand and supply modelling, and procurement planning.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant financial, mathematical or STEM related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues.
- An ability to demonstrate alliance with the above values and behaviours.
