An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and self-motivated individual to work within the SEND Assessment, Planning and Review Team as a Senior Assessment Coordinator

As a Senior Assessment coordinator, you will provide individual professional supervision and ongoing support and advice to the Assessment Coordinators to ensure the coordination of the statutory Education, Health, and Care Needs Assessment process.

You will champion close working with families and young people with special educational needs to ensure they are at the centre of the process at all times.

The Senior Assessment Coordinator will undertake joint working of cases with team members, where these are more complex. You will have responsibility for liaising with young people (up to 25 years of age), families of children with SEND, education provisions and other Local Area professionals; to ensure a holistic approach is taken at all times to meet the needs of those with SEND.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
