Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To work autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team; providing specialist assessment, advice, individual and group therapy for a wide range of clients and their presenting problems.
- Contribute to the development of local and trust wide policy and service initiatives in Art Psychotherapy and the Psychological Therapies directorate.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in planning, implementing and evaluating treatment, providing assessment and treatment for clients referred to the service and evaluate care.
- Provide specialist advice and clinical supervision for other professionals, Art therapists and trainees.
- Work independently, designing and establishing a specialist clinical Art therapy service for clients.
- Liaise with other members of the multidisciplinary team around treatment outcomes, referrals and formulation to ensure the service meets client needs while working within professional boundaries, HPC and BAAT ethics and code of conduct.
- Be able to access and disseminate up to date research and information in support of clinical work.

Essential criteria
- Registration with relevant Professional body - Art Therapist
- Experience of working with children & young people
Desirable criteria
- Experience of teaching /training colleagues or partner agencies
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- At least 2 years post registration experience in a setting where mental health is the primary focus some of which should have been in a CAMHS setting
