Senior Analytics Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Analytics Department; as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, your day-to-day work will include building easy to understand and consistently modelled datasets to serve metrics, dashboards and exploratory analysis; including building data transformation pipelines, primarily by using SQL and Python in dbt, and Airflow infrastructure.
About Us
At M-KOPA, you will be working in a small 3 or 4 person team role focused on Dimensional Data modelling, Data Engineering, Business and Product Optimization, Cloud Platform Utilization and Data Management.
You will collaborate primarily with cross-functional product and engineering teams with some additional internal business units to gather requirements, understand business needs, and deliver data-driven recommendations.
For us applying best practices is important in order to build reliable, well tested, efficient, documented data assets.
This is a fully remote role, you would be working within the following time zone (UTC -1 / UTC+3) with a diverse group of other employees working remotely from locations such as UK, Europe and Africa. You will be reporting to the Analytics Engineering Team Lead.
Expertise
Our expectation is that you have extensive experience with Python, Java and proficiency in SQL. Additionally, working with data warehouse technologies, and with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau and dimensional data modelling for analytics / big data infrastructures would make you an ideal candidate for the role.
Experience working with orchestration systems such as airflow working with dbt will equally be essential for this role.
