About the Department & Team:

LSM and Global Risk Solutions (GRS) IT collectively delivers innovative solutions and capabilities that leverage our technical expertise and business understanding and partnerships to enable market-leading performance world-wide. The Regulatory Risk & Group Functions Portfolio Team is made up of Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Application Support, Development & Testing people who deliver day to day 'Business as Usual' support and the delivery of enhancements and new applications to support the following teams: Actuarial, Claims, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance, HR, Strategy, Marketing & Internal Communications.

The applications are used in LSM's offices from Latin America and across Europe and the Middle East, through to Lloyd's China. The Team works closely with other LSM and US based Global Specialty and Central IT Teams including Development, Testing, Change Management and Incident Management

LSM are progressively implementing Agile practices and seeks to recruit an experienced Developer to develop and enhance both new and existing systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.

• Develop new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements.

• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application design.

• Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities.

• Work with business and technical staff to resolve problems and respond to suggestions for improvements or enhancements.

• Ensure products have been produced according to company procedures and standards.

• Operational support of existing applications with the portfolio.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Experience in building large-scale software applications.

• Refactoring of legacy applications.

• Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs.

• Expert level knowledge of Angular, JQuery, HTML, CSS, Python and C#.

• Good working knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL.

• Excellent debugging and optimization skills.

• Experience in unit/integration testing.

• Experience in Agile delivery techniques, processes, practices, and tooling.

• Prior experience of working in (Re)Insurance.

Desirable

• University degree in computer sciences.

• Experience in Exposure Management, including working knowledge of all major modelled catastrophe risk classes, both at an account and portfolio level.

• Knowledge of 3rd party natural catastrophe API's a plus, especially AIR Touchstone / Touchstone Re, RMS and Analyze Re.

• Exposure to Tornado webserver, IIS, DevOps and/or Bamboo, Source control (GIT / GitHub).

• Experience of Change Management in a mature organisation.

• Experience with AWS/AZURE.
