At TWG Global, your contributions will support our goal of sustained growth and superior returns, as we deliver rare value and impact across our businesses.

The Role:

We're looking for a Senior AI Data Engineer to join our ML Engineering team. As a Data Engineer, your mission is to design, build, and optimize the data infrastructure that fuels AI and analytics across TWG Global. You will ensure that data is accessible, accurate, secure, and AI-ready, enabling faster delivery of data-driven insights and solutions. You'll work across teams to integrate diverse data sources, build high-quality pipelines, and enforce governance and compliance standards, laying the foundation for scalable AI innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable data pipelines and integrations to support AI and analytics use cases.
  • Develop reusable data frameworks and patterns to accelerate delivery across multiple teams.
  • Build AI-ready data products (cleaned, enriched, and feature-engineered datasets) for use by Data Scientists and ML Engineers.
  • Improve and mature data infrastructure, tooling, and processes to meet evolving business and technical needs.
  • Ensure data governance, quality, and compliance across all systems, especially in regulated domains.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver high-impact, data-centric solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Mentor junior engineers and set standards for data engineering excellence.
  • Lead design and code reviews, defining best practices for enterprise AI data systems.
  • Act as a bridge between AI Science and ML engineering, ensuring smooth handoff of AI models into data pipelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in data engineering, integration, or infrastructure at scale (AI/ML or financial services environments preferred).
  • Proven success building production-grade data systems that support AI/ML applications.
  • Strong expertise in feature engineering, preprocessing, and feature store management for ML.
  • Experience with modern data stack tools (Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar).
  • Skilled in cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC (Terraform).
  • Deep understanding of the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation to monitoring, versioning, and governance, with awareness of the key undercurrents (scalability, reliability, security, and efficiency) that must be balanced at each stage.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (or equivalent for data workflows).
  • Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate complex data concepts to executives and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.

Preferred experience:

  • Leading or contributing to large-scale AI/ML data infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to real-time and streaming pipelines (Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming).
  • Familiarity with MLOps ecosystems (MLflow, Ray, Delta Lake, Iceberg) but with a data-first focus.
  • Experience with governance frameworks for regulated industries.
  • A record of driving measurable business outcomes through data engineering solutions.
  • Master's degree or advanced coursework in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

Benefits

  • Work at the forefront of AI/ML innovation in life insurance, annuities, and financial services.
  • Drive AI transformation for some of the most sophisticated financial entities.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, future equity options, and leadership opportunities.

This is a hybrid position based in the United Kingdom.

We offer a competitive base pay + a discretionary bonus will be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
