Background

The role of Senior Admissions Administrator sits with the Admissions Operations team as part of the centralised Admissions and Compliance department within Academic Registry.

Admissions are responsible for delivering a high-quality service to enquirers, applicants, and their advisers, ensuring fair, transparent and responsive admissions practices and selection policies to deliver an excellent applicant experience.

Admissions Operations underpins this through the set up and maintenance of the university's portfolio of courses to support the development and maintenance of a smooth application process for applicants utilising the SITS Student Records System.

The RoleWe are seeking to appoint a Senior Admissions Administrator to join a small team responsible for maintaining a range of courses which span the wide University portfolio via different admissions systems - UCAS, DfE and Direct. This includes the development and maintenance of a smooth application process for applicants applying for collaborative programmes both in the UK and internationally.

The post holder would be responsible for ensuring all external course data, including entry requirements and vacancy listings is complete and accurate. They will also resolve any data quality issues that arise from the transfer of data between the Student Records System and external Admissions systems.

The post holder will provide a professional, customer focused service for internal and external stakeholders in support of the admissions process, including UCAS Clearing. The postholder will work closely with key colleagues across the University including within the UK Partnerships and Apprenticeships Unit, Global Partnerships Office, Student Systems and Data Quality and the Quality and Standards Office.

Who are we looking for?

You will be a team player with relevant experience in a busy administrative environment. We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills and can contribute to the wider team whilst working independently. A high level of attention to detail, excellent analytical database skills along with good communication skills are essential requirements, as is the ability to quickly acquire and utilise knowledge of university and sector procedures, structures and regulatory frameworks.

Desirable requirements: An interest in working in the Higher Education sector, would also be welcomed.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Professional Services) which means Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.

It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
