Bristol City Council's Safeguarding Adults Team is looking for a skilled, organised and proactive Senior Administration Support Officer. This is a key role supporting a specialist team that works with partners across the city to help keep adults safe from harm. If you enjoy varied work, can manage multiple priorities and feel confident working independently, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to work that genuinely makes a difference.

About the Role

You will provide high-quality administrative support across a wide range of safeguarding activity including:

  • Coordinating meetings where different agencies share information to support adults who may be at risk.
  • Taking clear, accurate and timely minutes for complex and sometimes sensitive discussions.
  • Supporting information gathering and information returns for multi-agency forums that review situations involving risk or vulnerability.
  • Maintaining accurate records and helping the team track tasks, actions and outcomes.
  • Responding to enquiries from colleagues and partner organisations, handling issues professionally and with appropriate sensitivity.
  • Supporting smooth day-to-day running of administrative processes.
  • Helping identify improvements to systems and ways of working.

This role supports a team that collaborates closely with organisations across Bristol and plays a central part in ensuring that safeguarding activity is well-coordinated and effective.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong administrative experience in a busy or complex environment.
  • Can manage your own workload confidently and work independently when needed.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in both writing and speech.
  • Can take accurate and detailed minutes, even during fast-moving or sensitive discussions.
  • Shows excellent attention to detail and can manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and open to learning new systems.
  • Works well with colleagues and external partners.
  • Demonstrates the council's values: Dedicated, Respectful, Ownership, Curious and Collaborative.

Please note that this role is subject to a Basic DBS Check.

Working Arrangements

This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a mix of office-based and home working. If you prefer, you may work fully from the office.
