  • £27,711 per annum (pro rata)
  • 22.2 hours per week
  • Fixed Term or Secondment for 1 year (project)

Your role and responsibilities

As part of the team specialising in managing data and information about transport services, financial processes and promoting passenger transport, you will:

  • communicate regularly with our customers and colleagues to answer their questions about home to school travel and the public transport network in Suffolk
  • manage data to support our contract management processes such as data about school holidays
  • make sure our suppliers are paid the correct amount on time, and support the team with routine financial processes
  • support reporting on all aspects of our work using Excel, Oracle and our contract management system
  • work in collaboration with team members to create engaging social media content about all aspects of our service.

You will need

We are looking for a dynamic and creative individual who is committed to supporting the delivery of quality transport services in Suffolk. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • a keen eye for detail and experience of using systems to accurately record information
  • a friendly approach to communication to share complex information with colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • an aptitude for working with figures, ideally with experience in a financial setting
  • enthusiasm about the benefits of using passenger transport, particularly buses, and a willingness to share that enthusiasm via social media platforms.

The team

The Passenger Transport Team is part of the Growth, Highways and Infrastructure Directorate in Suffolk County Council. Made up of approximately 50 people, the team works to deliver safe, reliable, comfortable and cost-effective mainstream school transport, specialised transport for adults and students, and sponsored public bus services. Within the Passenger Transport Team, the Finance and Data Team lead on making sure our suppliers are paid on time and within budget, providing information about bus services, promoting public transport, and reporting on our all aspects of our work.
