Morrison Water Services is recruiting a Temporary Works Manager to work on our Yorkshire Water & United Utilities in Leeds.

As the Temporary Works Manager, your duties and responsibilities will be:

The Temporary Works Manager will oversee a project from initiation to completion, taking full responsibility for all aspects of temporary works planning. You will ensure that suitable temporary works solutions are evaluated and associated costs are captured at each stage of the project lifecycle. This includes assessing the price, methodology, and constructability of each option before selecting and presenting it to the Project Team.

Additionally, you will conduct Category 1 and Categories 2 and 3 checks on the temporary works for all contracts in the northern area specifically for Yorkshire Water & United Utilities , as well as their subcontractors' sites). You will also support the development of Category 0 Standard Solutions in collaboration with the Temporary Works and Design teams across the water division.

  • Conduct regular reviews of Morrison Water Services TW procedures and processes to ensure compliance with legal requirements and adopt the latest industry best practices.
  • Undertake delegated activities from the C-DI to ensure Workbook One (Appointments) and Workbook Two (Project Registers) provide a consistent approach across the north and water division
  • Be an active team member of the water division Temporary Works Working Group and to drive best practices across the water division
  • Prepare and source temporary work costs for the estimating team while they prepare total costs for projects ranging in value from £100k to £15m.
  • Advising on the appropriate temporary works methodologies
  • Preparing and checking a variety of temporary works designs, including crane platforms, temporary roads, cofferdam systems, falsework and formwork, ground shoring using proprietary equipment, timber and structural steel, timber headings, well-pointing, thrust blocks, scaffolding, hoarding, silt fences, gabion basket walls, river crossings, etc.
  • Assisting with associated TW permits and third-party requirements
  • Providing technical support and advice to the Design and Delivery teams
  • Undertake Temporary Works audits in line with MGW quality procedures and BS5975:2024 requirements.
