About the Role

Base Location:Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to: - Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

Travel will be required on occasion to either our Glasgow, Dublin or Belfast offices.

Salary: £47,600 to £71,600 / €64,400 - €96,000 (depending on base country, skills and experience) + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time / Part Time | Flexible First options available.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Acoustics Analyst to join the Onshore Renewables Energy Analytics team, supporting our extensive pipeline of wind, solar and battery energy storage projects in their development, construction and initial operational phases. You'll play a key role in the Energy Analytics (EA) team within SSER's Technical Centre of Excellence, using your technical expertise in delivering a wide range of analysis and modelling activities towards SSE Renewables pipeline of onshore wind farms and co-located development projects.

Some of your main accountabilities will include:

- Performing noise analysis and modelling on renewables development projects in line with internal analysis and reporting procedures.

- Effectively communicating complex technical topics in a clear, understandable way to a wide range of stakeholders, representing the team at internal and external meetings.

- Training, motivating, mentoring and supporting team members.

- Commissioning, managing and reviewing noise assessments from independent consultants when required.

- Leading inhouse R&D and the development of tools and processes, ensuring effective knowledge sharing within the team, and taking significant responsibility for quality monitoring of work.

- On occasion, you may need to travel for survey activities and to build and support relations with planning authorities or other stakeholders, therefore, a full and current driving licence will be required.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be highly experienced in providing analysis and modelling support and you will be excited about working at the cutting edge of wind farm development.

We would also love you to have:

- A recognised qualification in a relevant discipline and experience in the field of wind farm acoustics.

- A high level of proficiency in noise modelling using bespoke or proprietary software packages. Coding experience with Matlab, Python or similar would be beneficial.

- Knowledge of UK and Irish planning guidance and policy documents, such as ETSU-R-97, the IOA Good Practice Guide, Wind Energy Development Guidelines, BS5228 and BS4142.

- Ability to interpret data and convey key information with multi-disciplined project teams and a variety of stakeholders.

A good understanding of the broader development.
