SUMMARY:
TheCompliance & Safety Manager (C&SM)plays a crucial role in a small Part 145 organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a strong safety culture. This position is responsible for overseeing the compliance monitoring program, ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to EASA and other relevant aviation regulations.
Key responsibilities include conducting regular audits, inspections, and assessments of internal processes, procedures, and documentation to identify non-compliance areas and implement corrective actions. Additionally, the Compliance Monitoring & Safety Manager manages the Safety Management System (SMS), conducts safety investigations, and promotes continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate risks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Staying Current with Regulatory Changes
- Continuously monitor updates and changes in EASA and other relevant aviation regulations.
- Ensure the organization's policies and procedures are updated to reflect the latest regulatory requirements.
- Providing Training and Guidance
- Develop and deliver training programs for staff on compliance and safety matters.
- Offer ongoing guidance and support to ensure all employees understand and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Acting as a Liaison with Regulatory Authorities
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities during audits and inspections.
- Facilitate communication and cooperation between the organization and regulatory bodies.
- Conducting Regular Audits and Inspections
- Perform regular audits and inspections of internal processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Managing the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System.
- Conduct safety investigations and promote continuous improvement initiatives to mitigate risks.
- Fostering a Culture of Safety and Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Encourage and support compliance with all regulatory standards across the organization
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Candidates must have a strong command of computer desktop tools such as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) to assist in completing essential duties. Effectively demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/TRAINING
- Keen eye for detail to identify and address compliance and safety issues.
- Ability to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
- Capability to promote and maintain a culture that prioritizes safety and regulatory compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MOE systems and safety policies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Part 145 and any associated requirements/procedures.
- Knowledge of SMS (Safety Management Systems) and CM (Compliance Monitoring) processes.
- Safety training, human factors training, and knowledge of EWIS.
- Training in auditing techniques and root cause analysis methodologies, or assessment by the competent authority.
- Knowledge of relevant aircraft types/components maintained, demonstrated by training course or assessment by the competent authority.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Hands-on experience and proficiency in applying aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
- Five years of relevant work experience, with at least two years in a suitable position within the aeronautical industry.
- A relevant engineering or technical degree, or a qualification as an aircraft technician or maintenance engineer, supplemented with additional education.
- At least 12 months of experience in safety management functions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The applicant must possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
