Applications from candidates are sought for a full-time role in the academic practice team in the Centre for Academic Innovation and Development (CAID).

The University of Chester is proud to support its staff to achieve qualifications and recognition for their teaching expertise and 92.5% of our teaching staff hold Fellowships from Advance HE. You will support staff from a range of disciplines, roles and career stages as they prepare their applications for recognition of their expertise and experience against the Professional Standards Framework. You will contribute to the delivery of our three Advance HE-accredited programmes and lead at least one. We offer a postgraduate certificate for staff new to teaching and supporting learning in HE (leading to F.HEA) as well as a taught route to AF.HEA (TALENT) and an experiential route (CERTS) leading to F.HEA and SF.HEA. With a commitment to developing higher education teaching staff and experience of delivering professional development programmes to them, you will benefit in role from other university-wide opportunities to contribute your expertise to other activities, projects and initiatives aligned to the Student Education Plan as well as representing the CAID on deliberative Committees.

You will have specialist knowledge or experience of one or more areas of academic practice, for example, inclusive teaching and curriculum, competence-based assessment, social and immersive learning, digital education, scholarship of teaching and learning. You will demonstrate the ability to engage higher education staff in professional, work-based learning, have proven higher education teaching expertise and the willingness to continuously develop your knowledge and skills through scholarly and reflective practice. You will demonstrate flexibility in your approaches to supporting others and willingness to lead and take the initiative in identifying areas for development across the academic practice programmes and the wider CAID offer of educational enhancement.
