Salary Range: £53,857 - £61,470

Baltimore Consulting are proud to announce that we are working exclusively with London Borough of Camden on an exciting opportunity for you to join Camden Council as a permanent SEND Commissioning & Place Planning Manager within the Education Directorate.

In the SEND & Inclusion Service, we aim high for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and we're looking for a skilled professional to lead on commissioning, place planning, and quality assurance across our service.
About the Role
As SEND Commissioning & Place Planning Manager you will lead a portfolio of work to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND. Working closely with the Head of SEND & Inclusion, you will oversee commissioned services, develop SEND place planning strategies, and ensure high-quality provision through effective quality assurance frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading commissioning plans aligned to the SEND Strategy, ensuring services are effective, efficient, and outcome focused.
- Collaborating with education, health, and social care partners to meet SEND provision needs.
- Overseeing data collection, analysis, and quality assurance to drive service improvement.
- Co-producing systems and processes with parents, carers, and young people to ensure their voices shape our work.
- Managing continuous professional development across the SEND & Inclusion Service.
- Representing the service on boards and committees to inform local area strategies.
- This role includes responsibility for up to four direct reports.
About You
We're looking for a strategic thinker with a strong background in SEND and commissioning. You'll need:
- Extensive experience in education, health, or social care, with a deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Proven expertise in commissioning and delivering strategic projects.
- Strong partnership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across agencies.
- Experience in quality assurance, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to advocate for SEND services at all levels.
Work Environment
You'll be based in the Camden community for at least 60% of your working pattern, building relationships and influencing practice across the local area.
