Salary - Competitive dependant on experience
Hours - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working
Holiday - 20 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per each year of service following five years' service (up to a maximum of 25 days)
About the Semi-Senior Accountant role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join the team at either our Letchworth or Huntingdon office.
We are looking for a motivated and hardworking individual who has 1-3 years previous experience in an accountancy practice and is AAT qualified or part qualified. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background and be interested in beginning or continuing the ACCA qualification. We will offer full ACCA study support, including paid study leave and tuition, along with mentoring from experienced colleagues.
Key responsibilities of a Semi-Senior Accountant will include:
Accounts & Tax
- preparing and maintaining up to date financial records
- assisting with preparation of year end accounts ready for review
- compiling working papers and supporting schedules
- reviewing financial information for completeness and accuracy
- preparing draft corporation tax computations under supervision
- assisting with preparation of personal tax returns
- supporting with preparation of VAT returns and VAT-related queries
Client Support
- respond to client queries in a timely and professional manner
- build strong working relationships with clients and the internal team
- attend client meetings where appropriate to gain experience and understanding
Operational & Administrative
- support the wider team with general administrative tasks
- ensure deadlines are met and workflows are properly updated
- maintain accurate records and adhere to internal processes and quality standards
About you

Qualifications & Study Support
Essential:
- 1-3 years previous accountancy practice experience
- interest in beginning or continuing the ACCA qualification
- strong academic background (3 passes at A-Level grades A-C, AND 5 passes at GCSE, including English and Mathematics)
Desirable:
- AAT qualified or part qualified
