The Role
We are seeking an exceptional Security Operations Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Carlisle's security operations at Olympia London. This role ensures the safety and security of the customers personnel, visitors, tenants, facilities, and assets. The ideal candidate will focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance with industry standards. The role will also lead resourcing across all functions and will require a strong working relationship with the Control Manager and Event Manager.
This role is Monday to Friday however requires flexibility, and work outside standard office hours, including evenings, and weekends, to ensure standards are maintained across the 24/7 operation.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement the security policies and procedures through the Operational Duty Managers and Supervisors
• Conduct regular operational assessments and recommend strategies to mitigate security risks
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance of all security personnel.
• Ensure 12 job chats per annum across management and supervisory team
• Implement effective performance management processes
• Ensure all staff complete required training in line with the training matrix
• Lead and mentor security staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and accountability.
• Ensure all shifts are scheduled in advance with the support of the dedicated scheduler.
• Maintain high standards for staff deployment, including uniform, presentation, and preparedness.
• Monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to security protocols and incident response readiness.
• Conduct regular quality assurance audits with the Operational Security Team to identify compliance and training requirements.
• Dotted line to Ops Training as you would effectively be approved to deliver
• Support the Control Room Manager and Duty Manager in managing and leading incident response and coordination.
• Lead investigations into security breaches and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Establish protocols for detecting, preventing, and responding to security incidents effectively.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive security training programs for all personnel.
• Ensure that all staff are trained to prevent, detect, and respond to security incidents.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations and standards.
• Liaise with law enforcement and regulatory agencies as needed.
Skills & Experience
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training, as a minimum.
- Level 4 or Level 5 Teaching qualification - desirable.
- Level 3 Certificate of Assessing Vocational Achievement - desirable.
- Strong leader, excellent problem-solving skills
- in-depth understanding of security protocols and procedures.
