Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 1,2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12 per hour - £23,465 per annum. This temporary top up will be in place until the annual pay uplift for 2024/25 is confirmed

Job overview

To provide professional and effective administrative and secretarial support to the Head of Podiatry - East.

The main duties will involve arranging meetings/managing the diary, typing minutes of meetings, typing letters/reports and inputting staff data.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be flexible, reliable, adaptable and have good organisational skills to meet the needs of the service. A pleasant telephone manner and good communication skills are essential. You will also be computer literate with experience of Word and Excel, be a team player and able to maintain confidentiality.

By the nature of the duties, the post-holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients, relatives, medical staff and other colleagues, using the telephone and in writing, with courtesy and discretion at all times.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ 3 Qualification or equivalent experience in similar role
  • ECDL Qualification or equivalent IT knowledge
  • Good general education

Desirable criteria

  • RSA/OCR Level 3 or equivalent in Word Processing

  • Relevant experience

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Previous experience of working as a personal secretary
  • Familiar with office procedures & deadlines

Desirable criteria

  • Previous patient/customer service experience
  • Previous experience of working within the NHS

KNOWLEDGE

Essential criteria

  • In-depth and detailed knowledge and understanding of secretarial procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and presentation packages
