As the Balance Sheet Reporting & Control Senior Assistant, you'll be a vital part of a team that ensures the financial control of our business. You'll gain direct exposure to critical financial controls across Payroll, Global Mobility and Options, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting in this area. In this role, you will:
- Gain experience in a range of key financial control activities including preparing balance sheet reconciliations and reports, investigating and substantiating balances as well as supporting the month-end financial close process by preparing journals.
- Hone your skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, taking ownership of key financial control activities related to our payroll function. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a strong foundation and become a subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with and delegate to our offshore team, developing your task management and communication skills in a global work environment.
- Contribute to our continuous improvement by documenting processes, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.

You're a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with a passion for accuracy and a genuine interest in financial control. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working as part of a team to achieve shared goals. Your strong communication skills allow you to build positive working relationships and effectively convey information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Essentials:
- Currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with demonstrable progress towards qualification.
- Experience of reconciliations and reporting, including investigation and analysis of variances, demonstrating a proven understanding of financial control activities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- An ability to work effectively both within a team and independently, managing your own workload and prioritising tasks effectively.
- A positive, can-do approach, with a passion for personal development and continuous improvement.
Desirables:
- Experience with core Microsoft Office packages, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills being advantageous.
- Working knowledge of SAP and BlackLine.

Finance and Legal
We provide financial management and accounting support that is aligned to each area of Deloitte's business as well as the leadership team. We prepare the statutory and regulatory reporting required for Deloitte LLP and several other areas, whilst our General Counsel provides legal advice to the Board, the Executive and the Managing Partners.

We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
