Schedule Executive
Content Supply and Distribution
Permanent | Full-time
Office location - Leeds (minimum 2 days per week in the office)
Hiring range: £28,000 - £32,500
We are looking for a Schedule Executive to join our team based in Leeds. The main purpose of this role is to ensure an optimal and accurate schedule is produced and delivered to transmission - incorporating the programme strategy, break pattern, media plan and sponsorship plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning
- Entering programme schedules and changes into our in house scheduling system, ensuring sufficient information is available for press day, schedule costing, audience evaluation, Ofcom forecasting and compliance.
- Ensuring the correct programme and version is linked in the schedule
- Working closely with Editorial teams to ensure all strategic aims are met operationally in order to maximise commercial gain.
Presentation
- Taking responsibility for building and optimising the schedules at the appropriate time and according to guidelines
- Incorporating marketing and commercial elements into the schedules in a timely manner
- Liaising with various departments to solve potential issues
- Managing the press process and ensuring all deadlines are met
- Preparation of advanced information regarding live/ late programming
Supporting Transmission
- Whole schedule validation and trouble shooting to fully resolve all issues
- Adding data that drives transmission: programme and regional news sources, clean feeds etc.
- Delivering complete and accurate Transmission Schedules by daily deadlines
- Creating and delivering Contingency Schedules and Standby lists
Post Transmission
- Validating transmissions by comparing the planned schedule against the transmitted schedule and updating any discrepancies to ensure we have an accurate and complete record of transmissions
Other
- Working through potential schedules, to ascertain their feasibility
- Attending meetings relating to schedules and programmes
- Provide operational solutions to strategic requests
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
- Office-based work experience is essential
- Accuracy is key in this role, you must be able to work well under pressure whilst maintaining excellent levels of attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise a busy workload whilst remaining calm and approachable is essential
- Computer literate and keen to use new technology, must have experience using a range of software including email, excel and word as a minimum
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills at all levels
- Demonstrable experience working to tight deadlines
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
- Experience in a post production / broadcast environment is advantageous
- A genuine interest in content and broadcasting is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to pre-empt and proactively resolve problems
- Resilience and able to adapt to changeable situations whilst remaining positive
- Enthusiasm, we're looking for someone who is motivated, proactive, and a team player
- Minimum grade 4/5 in GCSE English and Maths. Additional qualifications in broadcast related discipline preferred
