Job Description

We're looking for an experienced Sales Director to lead Experian's Business Information and Background Checking Specialist Sales to achieve our ambitious goals and build upon the many successes of the team to date.

Business Information and Background Checking is a major business unit for Experian and a critical contributor to our business growth. Our capabilities in this field lead the market and empower our customers across the lifecycle from marketing, customer acquisition and engagement through to collections activities. The Specialist Sales Team bring together the best of our data, analytics and system capabilities through a highly consultative sales process to solve the big challenges for our clients and help them achieve their ambitions.

As Sales Director you will lead the Specialist Sales Team of circa eighteen, working closely with our customers, Business Information Product Management and Account Management Teams to ensure we're developing the right products/capability and solutions.

The role

The Sales Director for Business Information & Background Checking is the senior lead responsible for the sales success of this substantial business unit. The Specialist Sales Team works independently and with our vertically aligned Account Management Teams to identify and execute opportunities for our Business Information and Background Checking capabilities. The Sales Director also works closely with the Business Unit Product Management to drive new innovation solving the challenges the market presents.

The Sales Director's responsibilities include:

  • Setting the sales strategy within the overall business strategic plan.
  • Ensuring that team members have stretching personal objectives, development plans and regular performance reviews to embed a high performance culture.
  • Delivery of revenue/profitability and other market/client focused objectives
  • Contribution to overall strategic decision-making
  • Developing a deep understanding of business and financials
  • Setting and negotiating product / service terms
  • Managing resources to deliver an excellent customer experience

You'll have significant experience/knowledge of strategic selling in the fields of data, analytics and software and highly skilled in developing and executing against sales plans. We operate at pace and always with consideration for not just what we do but how and why we do it; acting with integrity and with the customer at the top of our priority list.

Effectively engaging the right stakeholders within our clients, the industry and internally is key to success in this role and you are the voice of our customers. Your voice and insights, continual learning and initiative plays a key role in shaping the strategy and investments in to the Business Unit.
