Salary: £33,814

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide safeguarding and wellbeing support to our Early Careers learners across multiple sites, signposting specialist support as required. Keep an accurate, timely record of safeguarding concerns, monitor interventions, identify key themes and ensure relevant support is provided and key concerns escalated as necessary
  • To support in coordinating the delivery of safeguarding, wellbeing, Prevent and British Values awareness training to all Early Career staff and apprentices, ensuring regular communications and updates are provided to the Early Careers staff regarding statutory guidance and legislations. eg. Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 and the Prevent Duty
  • To support on the development of safeguarding and wellbeing policies and processes, resources and activities across the Early Careers population providing central co-ordination in addition to localised support, collaborating with other Early Career teams, as and when necessary
  • To support in the coordination of the Safeguarding and Wellbeing meetings, coordinating the attendance, content and minute taking ensuring key themes and actions are recorded accurately
  • To maintain accurate Safeguarding central records, undertake local compliance checks, including the maintenance of accurate mandatory training and Enhanced DBS records, ensuring that all current and new relevant staff are compliant. To support the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team to check and approve all Apprentice Travel Risk Assessments to ensure safety and compliance

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Educated to Level 2 in Safeguarding or equivalent
  • Expert knowledge and experience of safeguarding and support of young people
  • Ability to react and prioritise tasks and plan workload, proficient in note taking, proof reading and analysing information relevant to maintaining compliance within policy and legislation

Desirable:

  • Educated to Level 3 in Safeguarding or equivalent
  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of delivering training and awareness in relation to safeguarding

The Early Careers Team:

This dynamic opportunity to join the growing Apprentice Capability Team within Early Careers, working alongside experienced Safeguarding and Wellbeing specialists who support apprentices in all business areas across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are passionate about safeguarding and wellbeing, who will bring a breadth of knowledge and experience to support the growth of our Apprenticeship provision.

Within Early Careers, the safety and wellbeing of our apprentices is paramount. This role will be subject to safer recruitment processes, including an Enhanced DBS check with a ‘Children’s Barred List Check’.
