Join us as a Route Planner and you'll be at the heart of our supply chain routing centre, using your analytical skills to plan deliveries across the UK. You'll update our delivery resource into our planning system, making sure we meet all of our customers' expectations and can deliver to our customers at the right time.

Role details:

As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Setting up and monitoring the national delivery resource and job levels for our delivery network, using our routing systems to ensure we meet our customer delivery promises
  • Ensuring the right skills are routed on the right van
  • Communicating with other areas of the business
  • Planning ahead, reviewing and revising as circumstances dictate, remaining ahead on pre-routing and resource/job managing across all skills as required
  • Identifying areas of possible change/improvement, both within the department and the operation as a whole
  • Adapting quickly to change in Routing Centre procedures and resource changes
  • Monitoring and building routes within the Loqus route planning systems and department tools to obtain the most practical and cost-effective routes

You will need:

  • Experience and/or understanding of operating principles in Route Planning / Supply Chain
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Being extremely flexible and adapts quickly to change
  • Strong planning, organisational and decision-making skills in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate at all levels
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A proven background in Route Planning (Desirable)
