Job Description
This role provides 1st line risk management support to one or more Costain contracted client projects. The role holder will play an important role in supporting Contract/Project teams to implement effective risk management in line with Costain's risk management standards and client contractual requirements. They will also support the contract/project team through collation and analysis of risk data and report on and escalate risk management matters through both internal risk governance channels and client contractual mechanisms.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the necessary Early Warning Notifications are raised in accordance with the main contract
- Ensure risk mitigation measures are progressed in response to EWN's
- Draft and update the contract Risk Management Plan's.
- Manage risk and continuously develop the risk register into a management tool containing accurate and relevant information for reporting purposes
- Risk identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, contractual allocation and preparing action plans;
- Manage the Risk Register
- Carry out risk workshops as and when required;
- Raise and respond to main contract early warning notifications, organising risk reduction meetings and progressing risk mitigation measures;
- Risk reporting, ensuring information is consistently accurate and relevant;
- Develop, implement and oversee effective and credible risk response and risk mitigation plans
- Develop and implement a systematic approach to risk review, ensuring that risks are robustly and routinely considered
- Ensure that the senior management team, are sufficiently sighted on and familiar with the project risk position
- Act as a conduit for the escalation of risk in line with established processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Skilled and experienced in NEC project and programme management and risk management methodologies
- Skilled and experienced in the use of risk management systems and tools
- Strong verbal, written and presentational skills with a high level of analytical and numerate skills
- Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills working in a team environment
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentational skills
- Able to use initiative
Qualifications
Essential
- Project Risk qualification, for example APM Risk Cert 1&2
- APM PFQ
- Or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in risk management, project management or relevant technical subject (engineering, science, maths, accounting or economics)
- Or equivalent qualifications or experience.
