Description
As Revenue & GP Manager at Nasstar, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition and gross profit reporting. You will deliver insightful financial analysis, maintain robust controls, and support strategic decision-making. This role also includes ownership of accrued and deferred income balance sheet reconciliations and proactive management of aged, accrued income issues.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Recognition & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15 and internal policies.
- Collaborate with commercial and delivery teams to validate revenue treatment for complex contracts.
- Prepare and review monthly revenue and gross profit reports, highlighting key trends and variances.
Gross Profit Analysis
- Analyse gross profit margins across business units, identifying performance drivers and improvement opportunities.
- Provide commentary and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Own the reconciliation of accrued and deferred income accounts.
- Investigate discrepancies and highlight risks, especially related to aged, accrued income.
Insightful Financial Analysis
- Deliver actionable insights to support performance reviews and strategic planning.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility of revenue and GP metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key contact for Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
Process Improvement
- Drive improvements in reporting processes, controls, and systems.
- Support automation initiatives to streamline reporting.
Annual Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance of all accounting standards (UK GAAP & IFRS), internal controls, policies and practices.
- Be the primary contact on the annual audit process, and organise the team to work collaboratively with the Auditors to deliver to the agreed plan
Team
- Manage a team of professionals aligned with the functions and legal entities
- Ensure and provide regular individual & team reviews against targets and performance
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of IFRS 15 and revenue recognition principles.
- Proven track record in financial reporting and analysis, ideally within a technology or services environment.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to clearly present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
