Retail Category Manager - Packaged Food

As a member of Gopuff's category teams, the Retail Category Manager has a crucial role contributing to building, launching and promoting our brand and product categories.

The Retail Category Manager will support and maintain our brand and customer experience by driving product sales through omni-channel opportunities, price optimization, assortment selection, cost negotiations, and product placement.

You will:

• Establish a deep understanding of Gopuff's retail business, omni-channel strategies, fulfilment operations and overall assortment with a focus on packaged / branded products.
• Develop relationships with local, regional and national vendors across Gopuff geographies for assortment opportunities.
• Monetise campaigns with major CPG partners through Gopuff's Ad platform.
• Conduct pricing analysis both nationally and locally to ensure key product lines are represented effectively in all markets and margin targets are met.
• Responsible for selecting, pricing and positioning of retail category products to create an exciting range for the different Gopuff customer profiles.
• Develop and maintain a packaged assortment that is centred around customer demand, commercial targets and brand relationships
• Determine product assortment contingent with location requirements in mind as it pertains to volume, size, distribution, and local trends.
• Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, Regional Managers and Store Managers to maximise revenue and financial targets within the respective product classifications.
• Track, measure and report financial impact of initiatives against financial targets.
• Maintain costing, pricing, contracts, and product catalogue information.
• Utilise external resources to stay updated on category and omni-channel trends with competitive market data.

You Have:

• A Bachelor's degree is required
• 4+ years of related experience
• The capability of taking initiative, ownership, and accountability for the categories in the retail business.
• The ability to react quickly with a strong sense of urgency.
• The affinity for using research, syndicated data, and consumer-specific insights to inform creative and productive decision-making as it pertains to assortment and category management.
• Strong analytical skills with strong proficiency in analytics tools including Microsoft Excel/ gSheets. Experience of working with Looker is a plus.
• The demonstrable ability to navigate a wide spectrum of product lines specific to our customer.
• Experience in grocery retailer or CPG manufacturer required.
• Experience in negotiating supplier or customer agreements required.
• Experience in working with packaged / branded categories is highly beneficial.
