Overview
We believe social media platforms are a great way to connect with those who use our services. We also use social media to offer advice and give information, whilst promoting the services and support we have on offer.
This is an ideal role for someone who would like to gain experience whilst supporting a local service to grow and maintain its social media platforms and presence.
Responsibilities
As a social media support volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in supporting the team to maintain our social media presence. This will include promoting local initiatives, providing harm reduction advice, and updating people on any service changes. You will also play a key role in the development and growth of our social media presence. This could include exploring additional platforms and being creative and innovative with how we deliver our content.
- Support the day-to-day updates/posting of information on Social Media pages
- Manage our social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Support the team to create and post useful and creative content that will engage our current followers and grow our presence
- Lead on the development of new social media platforms and campaigns
- Keep up to date with awareness days/weeks and advertise internal and wider community events/campaigns/recruitment.
- Use social media to gain feedback to help grow and improve the service offer
- Ensure compliance within relevant organisational policies and procedures
- Promote social media pages to relevant agencies and those who use our services
You will be supported by the Volunteer Team Leader and given training about our service to support you in your role. Video editing skills are desirable but not essential.
