Restructuring Delivery Associate

About the Team

  • The Restructuring Delivery Team ("RDT") is part of the Core Restructuring Advisory Team and the wider Transactions service line.
  • The RDT is a new national virtual team, which manages all insolvency appointment day-to-day responsibilities taken on by RSM.
  • The team is made up of c.30 people, based across the country, predominately consisting of a mix of students, junior staff and more experienced staff providing guidance, training and support.
  • The RDT will support the practice not only in delivering high quality, compliant insolvency processes, but also complimenting complex cases and suggesting solutions to ensure that we achieve the best result for an insolvent entity's stakeholders.

Overall Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to work within the newly created Restructuring Delivery Team, alongside our graduate and school leaver intake making a significant contribution towards the overall future development and success of the RDT.

Corporate insolvency experience essential, with a particular interest in training and development of junior team members. You will be expected to support and make a significant contribution towards the overall future development and success of RDT. The team is split into 'seats' each of which cover a specific area of insolvency, such as 'investigations' or 'closure'.

We require an individual with very good technical, analytical and report writing abilities as well as strong interpersonal skills and a passion for student training and development.

The role involves working with colleagues across the country, both within RDT and also within the wider Restructuring Advisory team. Communication is key to ensure that progress, and expectations, are managed and delivered upon. The role is not expected to involve attending marketing events, however the right candidate can continue to do this locally and support Partners with marketing and business objectives should they wish to do so.

The nature and the structure of the team, means that the workflow is more predictable and is adaptable to a suitable work/life balance.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:-

  • Assist and support the delivery of processes of each of the seats in accordance with standard procedures and relevant compliance of RDT, Restructuring Advisory and RSM as a whole.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Develop internal relationships with colleagues both within RDT as well as the wider RSM service lines to support delivery of RDT objectives.
  • Work with others to manage both graduate and school leavers within RDT, including training, coaching, delegating tasks, and supervising staff.
  • Deliver 'on the job' training for team members
  • Communicate regularly with the RDT Lead on key objectives, performance and team capacity.
  • Complete regular reviews to ensure compliance standards are met and deliver proactive case progression.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with statutory deadlines on all corporate cases.
  • Identify risk issues and ensure these are dealt with promptly.
  • Complete and submit timesheets and billing within deadlines and budgets.
  • Keeping up to date with insolvency and other relevant legislation.
  • Attend staff meetings and training as required.
  • Carrying out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the RDT Lead.

Qualifications:

  • CPI qualification beneficial but not a prerequisite for the role

Experience/ Attributes:

  • 3 - 4 years' experience in Restructuring Advisory and / or Insolvency in a similar role e.g Assistant Manager
  • Proficient user of case management system e.g IPS or similar
  • Experience of making decisions, and communicating effectively with colleagues
  • Strong insolvency technical knowledge
  • Good time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple commitments
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to high quality delivery within agreed timeframes.
  • Commitment to continued personal development and a strong desire to develop and train junior members of the team.
