Head of People - Supply Chain Operations

We have a new opportunity for a Head of People - Supply Chain Operations to join our Supply Chain Network.
This role will report into our Head of People Operations and will be setting and delivering the supply chain people strategy to enable the achievement of the supply chain business goals.
This includes workforce planning, talent acquisition, recruitment, performance management, L&D, employee engagement & culture and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
This individual will partner with our Supply Chain Leadership Team, driving inclusion and wellbeing, managing employee relations, building strong leadership capability through data led decisions and you will provide expert, pragmatic guidance on all people related matters.
Accountable for creating an effective & engaged high performing workforce and advising senior leaders on people related risks and opportunities.
You will lead a team of People Business Partners, Recruitment and an L&D Partner to provide comprehensive HR support across a large, complex and unionised Supply Chain Network, driving business performance across circa of 4,000 colleagues.
This role is full time, based out of one of our Distribution Centres, with travel to the other DC's.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and deliver the HR agenda across Distribution Centres and Transport operations aligned to supply chain objectives.
- Act as the senior HR partner to the Supply Chain Director and wider Supply Chain leadership team.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of People Business Partners, Recruitment and L&D professionals to deliver high quality advice, guidance and services to the supply chain teams.
- Be a visible HR leader across sites and building strong relationships with our operational leaders & colleagues.
- Translate operational priorities into practical people solutions that support productivity, engagement, safety and cost control.
- Own and lead the Employee Relations agenda across the Supply Chain Network - Act as the primary HR lead for Union engagement.
- Ensure consistent application of policies, agreements and employment law.
- Support leaders to build ER capability and confidence in a unionised environment.
- Lead and deliver the Supply Chain learning and development agenda, ensuring training is practical and aligned to operational needs.
- Build frontline leadership capability with a strong focus on people management, ER, absence and performance.
- Support and embed consistent performance management across sites.
- Set clear objectives and KPIs, driving accountability and delivery.
- Use people data and insight to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Contribute to wider HR projects, change initiatives and continuous improvement activity.
What we are looking for:
- Significant HR leadership experience within a large, operational environment (logistics, FMCG, manufacturing or retail supply chain).
- Proven experience leading and developing HR teams.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating at pace in a complex, high-volume environment.
- Experience in change initiatives, such as culture transformations or system implementations
