About the Role:
We are seeking to appoint a Residential Life Manager to work within our busy Student Accommodation Team. Student accommodation is an integral part of many students experience at University, and plays an important role in recruitment and retention of our students. Rental income is in excess of £6million annually and provides a significant contribution to the financial health of the University.
The post holder will provide day to day operational management of the Residences Team. The Residences team are based within our halls of residence to be the first point of contact for all students who live in our halls. The team aim to provide a fantastic residential experience, creating a vibrant, engaging and inclusive community within our halls.
The successful applicant will play a key part in leading our Student Residential Experience, including;
- Managing an events programme, including welcome events
- Supporting the wider accommodation team in building a cohesive student community
- Working with the Residences Team, and the wider Student Services team to identify emerging wellbeing issues and ensuring that appropriate support is provided
- Investigating and dealing with breaches of the Conditions of Residence
- Working collaboratively with staff in the Estates and Campus Services team to ensure the effective management of estates led functions
- The post holder would form part of a 24 hour, 52 week Residences On Call Rota, an additional allowance is paid for this
Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston and will require some weekend working to support recruitment activity and Student Welcome/Move Out events.
About you:
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing student halls of residence, with proven ability to establish a safe and supportive community experience of student residents, this will be underpinned by a undergraduate degree or professional qualification, or an equivalent level of experiential learning.
Excellent leadership and motivational skills are essential and candidates will be able to take a solution-focused approach, collaborating with customers and colleagues to resolves issues efficiently, while working compassionately with students.
