Education.Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • A degree (second class (2.2) or above or equivalent) in psychology, health sciences, social sciences, public health Or degree in other subjects and can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience that demonstrates how specialist knowledge has been gained and applied.
  • Master's level qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent professional qualification (including registered health care professional). Or equivalent relevant experience that demonstrates how specialist knowledge has been gained and applied.

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of continuing professional development in equality diversity and inclusion, health inequalities or public health.

Knowledge/Experience

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge / Experience managing projects in a complex organisation which has multiple organisational structures and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge / Experience working across teams managing and delivering research activities in a complex organisation which has multiple organisational structures and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge / Experience of working as a team to develop systems and processes that inform decision making and monitor progress.
  • Knowledge / Experience in recruitment and line management activities, providing support to other colleagues and managing staff development.
  • Knowledge / Experience in successful budget management in a large complex organisation.
  • Knowledge / Experience of collaborating with other to co-ordinate and contribute to the submission of funding applications from external agencies including but not limited to the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR)
  • Knowledge / Experience of collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to disseminate research findings.
  • Knowledge / Experience in developing and delivering training and development activities to a range of stakeholders and diverse groups.
  • Knowledge / Experience involving service users, patients, carers, and other community partners in research activities
  • Knowledge / Experience of co-ordinating meetings including the recording and dissemination of actions and outputs.
  • Knowledge / Experience with computer packages that aid qualitative and / or quantitative data analysis.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of interpreting equality, diversity, and inclusion or health inequalities related guidance and producing briefings that are compliant with best practice.
  • Experience of developing and delivering equality, diversity, and inclusion or health inequalities related activities to a range of stakeholders.

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Ability to develop study systems to enable effective running of the EDI-RU and its projects
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to demonstrate effective negotiation and influencing skills; acting in a tactful and confident manner to achieve results
  • Ability to prepare accessible reports and information for a range of stakeholders such as service users, carers, research team members, clinical and non-colleagues, community members and partner organisations
  • The ability to manage quantitative and qualitative research including recruitment, data collection and analysis

Desirable criteria

  • Demonstrable capability of working with large volumes of complex, sensitive and highly confidential information

Other Requirements

Essential criteria

  • Knowledge and awareness of safeguarding vulnerable people
  • Reliable method for traveling independently across the Trust footprint and occasionally the North West or nationally to attend meetings and events relevant to the role
