Repair Field Manager
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit for a Repair Field Manager to join the Team based in our Addlestone Office but working in our London Branch. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and delivering complex repair projects across Lift, escalator, and moving walk installations. This role oversees field operations, manages engineers and subcontractors, ensures technical and safety compliance, and serves as the primary contact for customers during project execution. The role plays a critical part in maintaining operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and commercial performance within the repair business. This is a permanent and full time role.
What you'll be doing
- Leading and managing the delivery of repair projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards
- Supervising and coordinating the activities of field engineers and subcontractors, providing direction, support, and performance oversight
- Carrying out technical assessments and fault diagnostics to scope and plan repair works, ensuring efficient and compliant execution
- Acting as the key customer interface during repair projects, managing communication, expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction
- Supporting the Repair Sales Team by providing technical input to enable accurate pricing and scoping of chargeable works
- Ensuring full adherence to company safety, quality, and environmental standards, including compliance with all relevant UK legislation and Schindler policies
- Documenting and reporting on project progress, including any changes, delays, risks, or follow-up actions required
- Driving continuous improvement by identifying operational inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and sharing field-based insights with leadership
- Attending required training sessions and maintain relevant certifications to support safe and effective performance of duties
What we're looking for:
- Strong technical background in lift, escalator, or similar mechanical/electrical engineering field.
Proven leadership experience in field operations or project delivery role is desired - NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Lift Engineering or similar technical qualification (MANDATORY)SSSTS / SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification
- IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety certification (advantageous but not essential)
- Ability to manage multiple repair projects and resources concurrently
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- Experience managing subcontractors and ensuring safe site practices
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
