Do you want flexible work delivering outdoor activities that genuinely make a difference to young people and communities? If you do, join Buzz Active as a Relief Instructor or Relief Senior Instructor and support the delivery of safe, engaging outdoor experiences across East Sussex.
As a Relief Instructor / Relief Senior Instructor, you'll support the delivery of high quality outdoor activity sessions across Buzz Active's three sites. Working on a casual basis, you'll deliver land and water based activities to schools, youth groups and the public, supporting centre operations and maintaining high safety and learning standards.
This role is suitable for Development Instructors (SS3), Instructors (SS4) and Senior Instructors (SS5), depending on age, experience and qualifications. Please confirm which role you are applying for on your supporting statement.
Buzz Active operates from three locations: Eastbourne (sailing and windsurfing), Cuckmere Valley (paddle sports), and Bushy Wood (land based and residential activities).

We are looking for candidates who:
- Hold, or are working towards, relevant NGB instructional qualifications
- Ability to work with individuals from a wide range of abilities and cultures
- Training or experience of working at an RYA affiliated centre and/or a PaddleUK affiliated club and/or a land-based activity centre
- Training or experience of leading teams at an RYA affiliated centre and/or a PaddleUK affiliated club and/or a land-based activity centre
- Willingness to share expertise, skills, knowledge and encourage others to do the same

This is a casual (relief) position, with work offered on an as required basis.
The role is available at the following grades:
- SS3 - Development Instructor (under 18s): £24,796 FTE
- SS4 - Instructor: £25,185 FTE
- SS5 - Senior Instructor: £25,989 FTE
Employees under 18 will be appointed at SS3 and will be supported by an over 18 instructor. Progression to SS4 is available once the employee turns 18 and can independently lead sessions.
