About the role:

This is an exciting role for an experienced accountant with the intellectual challenge of analysing and understanding the development of a rapidly growing organisation. You will be responsible for the analysis and reporting capabilities of Sage and work closely with business leaders across both finance and C-suite. You will ensure that the organisation's reporting and analysis are delivered to the highest quality in support of the FP&A Manager. The role combines insight, financial planning, management reporting, forecasting, strategic modelling and general financial support for the wider team.

Key responsibilities include:

Business Partnering:

  • Partner with key business stakeholders to assess current trends and provide forward looking strategic direction
  • Influence current and new projects and business strategies through commercial and financial support
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks within the business and report recommended actions to senior leadership
  • Present to senior leadership monthly financials with findings, analysis and insights
  • Finance lead for on operational business performance, notifying Leadership of potential changes to current targets including reasoning, ongoing expectations with commercial reasoning and financial impact

Budgeted & Forecasting:

  • Responsible for the projection of operational key metrics across the business for annual budget and quarterly forecast cycles
  • Ownership of financial outputs resulting from the business targets
  • Financial modelling to capture all datapoints, assess and analyse
  • Presentation skills required to provide commercial reports to the Leadership, Investors and the Board for approval

Reporting and Analysis

    • Provide commercial insight on operational activities across the business
    • Ad Hoc analysis/ deep dive into various areas of the business to provide additional colour to MBR audience
    • Responsible to provide weekly updates and monthly result reporting and analysis to Business management / Investors and Boards on Sage's portfolio performance

About you

  • Previous experience of financial reporting, planning and analysis
  • High attention to detail and accuracy of reporting
  • Ability to organise and drive projects/ tasks independently
  • Strong financial reporting and analysis capabilities
  • Senior business stakeholder management with commercial and operational mindset
  • Ability to influence/ communicate effectively
  • Financial modelling / strong Excel Skills
  • Strong analytical skill set - identify key drivers, problem solving

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
