What you'll do
As a Regulatory Assurance Policy Manager, you'll lead the assurance of first line regulatory interpretations on current and future rules from global, European and UK regulators. You'll challenge key judgements and the application of accounting and regulatory rules in prudential and other regulatory reporting.
Alongside this, you'll utilise your deep technical expertise to help the regulatory assurance team, covering policy interpretations and supporting regulatory assurance reviews regarding appropriate interpretations or calculations.
Day-to-day, you'll:
- Build and manage working relationships at senior manager and executive level across franchises, including with relevant financial directors and regulatory reporting senior managers across our business
- Make sure that the assurance of the first line have high-quality documentation to enable the tracking of policies into the reporting process and ensure their judgements are managed through implementation governance
- Motivate, inspire and mentor colleagues within the Regulatory Assurance team and beyond to develop their technical excellence and build their capabilities for the future
- Offer your expertise on the regulatory treatment of complex transactions and lead on their assurance
- Provide the real-time and retrospective assurance of material interpretations and transactions that impact regulatory calculations and reporting from Risk, Regulatory Policy, Regulatory Reporting, Technology or Change functions
The skills you'll need
To be a part of our high-performing team, you'll bring together your technical regulatory knowledge, audit experience and data capabilities to perform detailed substantive reviews and testing across our bank's regulatory reporting.
We'll need you to have a professional accounting qualification and post-qualification experience or a risk or regulatory background. You'll also need a detailed knowledge of the Prudential Regulatory Authority's reporting requirements regulatory returns.
In addition, you'll demonstrate:
- A commercial awareness and knowledge of current market practices
- The ability to influence, negotiate and deliver through colleagues at a broad spectrum of seniority
- Critical thinking skills, enabling you to cut through complexity and make sound decisions and recommendations that're carefully balanced against risk
- An understanding of how to work under your own initiative and be a self-starter
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage and manage a wide range of stakeholders
