We are incredibly proud to run a dedicated adult services programme that specialises in supporting and empowering people with autism. Everything we do is to ensure the best possible outcome for the incredible people we support, and you could be a part of this.

We are looking for a motivated natural leader to work to support our colleagues and residents as a Registered Manager for our two residential services in Crewkerne. Reporting to the Head of Adult Services, we're looking for someone who can work independently, driving the service forward to deliver unlimited possibilities for the people we support.

This role would oversee our two residential properties in the west, Middle Path and Barns Close. They are conveniently located just under a mile apart and support eight adults across the two homes. The people we support at both homes enjoy taking part in activities and no two days are the same.

A day in the life of a Registered Manager includes:

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the service and support team
  • Providing leadership, direction and support, guidance and mentoring to staff within the service, whether that be with supervisions, 1-2-1, or weekly team briefings
  • Lead on CQC compliance and best practices across the service
  • Setting objectives that are clear, aspirational, and achievable for our colleagues and the people we support
  • Provide on-call support to colleagues on a rota basis
  • Ensuring the home is well maintained, liaising with our health and safety and maintenance teams where appropriate

Our ideal candidate:

  • NVQ level 4 or 5 in social care/management (or working towards)
  • Autism qualification preferred
  • Reliability and commitment to delivering best practice
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and report writing skills
  • A readiness to work un-social hours on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in duties
  • The skills to lead and motivate others, work as part of a team and strive for excellence
  • Experience with autism and challenging behaviour

Why join us?

  • A rewarding job, full of variety and opportunities for career development
  • 12-week induction programme consisting of in-house training, e-learning, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
  • The opportunity to complete an accredited qualification once you've passed your probation period.
  • All colleagues have access to an internal learning portal so you can increase your skills and knowledge in the areas that interest you the most.
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Up to 33 days annual leave pro-rata (including bank holidays)
  • A generous employee referral scheme - you can earn £400 for each person you successfully refer!
  • Benefits portal which gives you access to money off your favourite shops, restaurants, and great days out, along with a cashback healthcare plan for general day-to-day healthcare such as optical and dental.
  • A 24 Hour Employee Assistance Programme that provides practical information and support on issues like money management, family and legal information.
  • We also have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to provide support you in the event you experience issues relating to your mental health.
