ABOUT THIS ROLE

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the primary role of the Regional Manager is to lead, inspire and mentor the Premium Retail teams in the north of the UK from Glasgow down to Nottingham. Implementing the retail strategy to drive sales and profitability across the region's stores.

The responsibility of Regional Manager is to coach and develop the team, inspiring them to provide our customers with an exceptional customer experience, sharing a passion for the brand, and our products.

Create an outstanding store environment that drives customer loyalty, upskills our people, drives high staff retention and delivers results.

To be strategic in their approach and thinking creating an entrepreneurial and 'can do' mindset, always looking ahead at ways to improve efficiencies and maximize opportunities.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example with enthusiasm and energy and inspire your team on a day-to-day basis, to deliver the retail strategy and ensure all work is completed to a high standard by spending time coaching and provide in the moment feedback.
  • Foster a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Role model and champion the 5Cs framework, be Collaborative, Creative, Courageous, Connected, Committed.
  • Manage recruitment for your region, from identifying the ideal staffing model per store, to creating a comprehensive recruiting and onboarding programme and working with the People team to appoint the very best people.
  • Induct and develop your team, and handle people issues in a timely manner in conjunction with the People team and training, following ghd processes.
  • Monitor store performance, working with the teams in store to highlight and drive great results and to quickly take any remedial action needed.
  • Implement the mystery shop and continually use this framework as an opportunity to develop teams and strive for success.
  • Carry out all people management aspects with your direct reports such as 1-1's, coaching and feedback, performance reviews, recruitment, and induction, handling any performance issues.
  • Work with the education department to ensure all members of your regional team have the product knowledge required and the customer service skills to give outstanding service. Ensure that everyone has a PDP and SMART objectives that are reviewed on a 3-month basis.
  • Actively communicate clearly across the business ensuring everyone who needs to know, does know, and cascade all information in a positive, timely manner.
  • Supporting and driving eventing both internally and externally.

Trading

  • Full accountability for managing the P&L across your region.
  • Develop and deliver proposals to enhance on-going performance, negotiating additional support as required.
  • Secure appropriate allocation and sell-in for new launches and core stock on an on-going basis.
  • Propose and drive weekly trade activity to drive sales, ensuring timely execution of all promotions and campaigns through working with central functions.
  • Partner with other functions to ensure all retail opportunities are maximised: Visual Merchandising regarding design, look and feel of sites; Marketing regarding launches and promotions; People team regarding staffing issues; Learning and Development / Education regarding all development and training needs; Operations team regarding stock levels.
  • Achieve operational excellence consistently, dealing with any areas of development.
  • Drive and promote efficient stock control for continuous improvement.
  • Regularly conduct commercial store visits to ensure all stores are consistently delivering the highest levels of customer service and commercial visual merchandising.
  • Collate in depth weekly trade reports to deliver to the National Sales Manager
  • Identify store performance issues and provide concise strategies and action plans to conquer.
  • Hold regular sales meetings within your region.
  • Minimum of 4 days out in the field.
  • Ability to generate profits in multiple sales locations.
  • Supplying business overviews in a timely manner to the wider company.
  • High level of commercial and competitor awareness

Retail Operations

  • Engage in our positive health and safety culture, ensuring all stores are compliant with all Health and Safety regulations.
  • Lead the implementation of all in-store activities, following the marketing calendar, working to merchandising guidelines to ensure a consistent approach and our high standards are maintained.
  • Maintain effective stock control systems, measure results, review, and act on a regular basis.
  • Addressing and rectifying any lapses in compliance with company policies
  • Training and setting operational goals and expectations, and then ensuring that those goals and expectations are achieved through regular monitoring.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures incorporating 'the Owners mindset' attitude .

REQUIREMENTS

  • To live within the northern region to enable easy travel within the full region (UK North Glasgow - Nottingham)
  • Extensive experience in a similar retail role ideally with experience in beauty or a people and customer focused, retail business.
  • Excellent people management experience and skills, including managing remote teams.
  • Multi-site and ideally multi-channel sales experience.
  • Ability to coach and mentor teams to drive elevated levels of performance.
  • Collaborative and influential at all levels.
  • In-depth understanding of the market to maintain competitive awareness by continuously monitoring the competition and then reacting accordingly to maintain the business advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated, passionate, empathetic individual with a positive attitude, "can do" approach and entrepreneurial growth and 'anything is possible' mindset.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability, can give examples of taking measured risks to achieve results.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic outgoing, determined to win and a passion for customers and all things hair.
