What is the purpose of this role?

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a highly motivated, ambitious and empowered team who are responsible for growing our Private Companies banking proposition.

Primarily focused on identifying and converting clients seeking working capital solutions; you will also be responsible for introducing clients to other areas of the wider bank.

What are the positions expectations?

• To originate and close new business transactions in accordance with ICS credit policy framework, working with a range of intermediaries and other introducers across a defined geographical territory.
• To engage with known intermediaries and discover new suitable intermediaries for the purpose of generating new business enquiry.
• To represent the company at external networking and other events for the purposes of professionally promoting the company business and profile
• To qualify prospective sales enquiry, arranging face to face meetings with prospects at their company premises in order to assess and determine suitability for an ICS facility
• To analyse key financial and other data in order to structure appropriate funding solutions mitigating key risks accordingly; to present such analysis with recommendation to appropriate underwriting authority within ICS for the purposes of seeking formal credit sanction
• To build relationships with prospects to ensure they are converted into new customers for ICS in accordance with individual objectives
• To maintain accurate records at all times; specifically to ensure the company CRM process is updated accurately and in a timely fashion
• Working closely with other areas of the bank in order to develop mutual opportunities.
• Identification of existing client relationships where working capital would assist.
• Identification and Development of internal products channels for new business referrals.

Communication & attitude:

• To maintain accurate records at all times; specifically to ensure the company CRM process is updated accurately and in a timely fashion
• Work with product teams to ensure relationship smooth, product sales are appropriate and we are getting the right returns
• Build strong internal relationships across product teams, credit and On-boarding
• To represent the company at external networking and other events for the purposes of professionally promoting the company business and profile
• Working closely with Client Managers to ensure client is on-boarded smoothly.

Getting the right returns:

• Meet or exceed all targets set
• Ensure that the Return on Capital per client exceeds minimum hurdle rates

What are we looking for?

• Actively displays and understands the Investec core values
• Capable of handling all aspects of a complex sale process from origination through to closing
• Detailed working knowledge of the receivables industry and the structure and legal framework around receivables and related financial products
• Ability to analyse complex financial and other data, drawing appropriate conclusions
• Ability to clearly articulate and communicate both internally and externally to achieve stakeholder support
• Capable of working accurately under pressure to exceed targets and deadlines
• Strong initiative with excellent problem solving skills.
• Good team player and able to work on own initiative.
• Proven ability of establishing strong, effective working relationships at all levels.
• Ability to think logically in challenging and diverse situations.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight regulatory and internal deadlines
• Resilient, not derailed by a setback and returns to a high level of performance quickly.

Learning & Development:

• Learn and understand the corporate banking value proposition.
• Ensure you maintain full understanding of product by working closely with product teams across the bank.
