The role

As our Regional General Manager, you will be driving profitable business performance and ensuring service excellence across a region of hotels. This position reports to the Director of Operations for our Owned Estate.

This role is remote, with travel required to the allocated hotel portfolio on a regular basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Performance Management: Oversee regional metrics, guest service standards, and financial performance to drive continuous improvement across the allocated region of hotels.
  • Service Excellence: Enhance guest service and uphold quality standards to ensure a memorable experience for all guests while effectively addressing the feedback received.
  • Commercial and Business Development: Develop and implement sales strategies and revenue plans that capitalise on local opportunities to maximise hotel profitability.
  • Brand Profile and Reputation: Elevate hotel profiles through active community engagement and networking, consistently reinforcing the brand's presence within the market.
  • Financial Management: Implement robust financial procedures while conducting regular analyses to achieve targets and ensure profitability across the region.
  • Legal and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal, health and safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Staffing: Maintain optimal staffing structures and oversee effective training to cultivate a skilled workforce that consistently delivers exceptional guest service.
  • Property Maintenance: Manage maintenance requirements efficiently and oversee refurbishment projects to ensure operational continuity and enhance guest satisfaction.

What you'll bring to the team

You'll be a pragmatic thinker, innovative and solutions-driven - with an overwhelming desire to succeed. An ideal candidate for this role should possess the following attributes:

  • The role will be responsible for a portfolio of approximately 10 hotels therefore this role is ideal for an experienced and accomplished multi-site General Manager or Area General Manager looking to advance their career within an innovative, change-driven company.
  • Ideally, you will have experience managing IHG brands in a similar role; however, candidates with experience in other branded environments are also encouraged to apply.
  • You will demonstrate a successful track record in achieving targets and managing team performance effectively.
  • You will continuously seek ways to improve operational efficiency.
  • Proven track record in developing strong relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive positive results.
  • Track record of developing, implementing, and delivering the operational strategy.
  • Experience in delivering and controlling costs across multiple business units.
  • A creative, collaborative leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
