We are currently seeking a Regional General Manager to oversee a transport and warehouse operation, managing a multisite contract. An essential part of the role will be to form an exceptional relationship with the Customer to ensure our continued growth agenda is brought to fruition.

We make promises to our customers, and we'll make promises to you too. The key responsibilities in this role include;

  • Ensure sites health and safety risks are analysed and understood and actions are in place to reduce or eliminate these risks, taking personal accountability for any risk mitigation for the account.
  • Lead commercial reviews with the customers (growth and renewal) affecting all the sites and develop customer relationships year-on-year to ensure customer retention and loyalty, aiding CXM improvement.
  • Lead through the direct senior team, the overall approach to resource planning and management, direct reports are recruited, assessed, trained and resources are planned to meet the forecasted volumes and managed to achieve optimum performance within budget and the organisational structure is lean and efficient.
  • Accountable for the overall multiyear performance of the account, including achievement of agreed customer KPIs, delivering site budget, financial results and other internal KPIs (e.g. safety, operational, employee related etc).
  • Identify and share best practice about ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency of all sites; ensure this is integrated into Site Development Plans and engage peers to share best practice between sectors and products.
  • Lead and participate in Performance Dialogs, Gemba walks and Town Hall meeting, leading by example to reinforce behaviours associated with our culture (e.g. Respect & Results, Continuous Improvement, Employee Engagement) and demonstrate an active leadership style.

  • Previous experience in managing large scale logistic Operations, specifically Transport and Cross dock networks - Essential.
  • High intensity cross dock experiences an advantage.
  • Unique commercial model requires strong financial and operational skill set.
  • Good working knowledge Geographically within a Network Logistics Operation.
  • Experience of managing a network across multiple locations including out bases.
  • Negotiation skills and experience of commercial negotiation and contracting processes.
  • Good understanding of Distribution / Logistics / Transport IT systems and WMS processes.
