Role Overview

STRATEGIC

• Support and help implement future business strategies which are congruent with the aims and objectives of the business and Genus PLC

• Fully integrate into the leadership team by supporting and challenging your peers to develop and achieve the company's business objectives.

• To take responsibility at a central level for the delivery of certain feasibility studies, project plans, and ideas to grow the Promar International business at a company level.

• Promote, develop and protect the Promar brand through the quality of work delivered, adherence to brand guidelines and by developing and supporting brand building activity.

• Develop and build capacity in the designated area by ensuring people management, sales growth, training or strategic business development projects are planned and implemented effectively.

PEOPLE

• Effectively management of your team, delivery of consultancy services in the region and business growth, as aligned with the businesses core strategic plan.

• Responsible for the recruitment, training and on-going performance management of all employees in the designated region.

• Ensure your team complete all necessary Health & Safety and mandatory training modules in line with annual company timescales

• Ensure the performance and talent management processes are implemented for direct reports, and training/development needs are identified, to generate a forward pipeline of talent capabilities as part of an effective succession planning process.

• Ride out and coach junior consultants monthly, consultants bi-monthly and all other consultants at least four times per year.

OPERATIONAL

• Drive the growth of the business forward, through a combination of on-farm work and working with corporate customers as well as a strong focus on sales and marketing initiatives

• Responsible for planning, utilisation and co-ordinating logistics to enable economic and sustainable delivery of the Farm Consultancy service throughout the designated region.

• To undertake a maximum of 30 days of farm consultancy delivery

• Works continuously and cooperatively with all support functions, including but not limited to Finance, IT, Marketing, HR and Health and Safety. Ensures the policies of these functions are understood and observed by yourself and direct reports.

• Attendance at all business and team meetings as required and completion of all mandatory trainings/development opportunities in consultation with your line manager

• Provide accurate information and data pertinent to your team in a timely manner as requested. This includes short, medium and long term forecasting.

• Undertake any other tasks as may be reasonably required by your line manager

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Proven ability to lead, grow and develop business units with excellent negotiation skills and analytical ability.

• Ideally educated to degree level (Business or Animal Sciences) with an Agricultural/Scientific background.

• Considerable knowledge of the farm consultancy markets

• Experience of managing people, with responsibility for managing turnover and staff utilisation in the region and an ability to win new business in a competitive environment.

• Willingness to travel domestically in the region and nationally.

Key Measures

• Delivering Promar Consulting performance against the core strategic plan in the designated region.

• Challenging growth and profit targets

• Challenging levels of prospecting, tendering and winning new business

• Number of rideouts and coaching sessions held with direct reports

• Managing individual performance of direct reports as per agreed objectives;- individuals should be

o Clear how their contribution delivers the business strategy

o Clear how their contribution impacts the region overall

o Motivated and high performing, at least meeting agreed objectives
