Redaction Project Manager

  • Do you have a sound knowledge of subject access requests and redaction?
  • Are you confident in implementing software solutions to transform practice and process?
  • Do you collaborate well with colleagues?

We are looking for a Redaction Project Manager who can lead the successful deployment and customisation of our new automated redaction solution across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. This role is a 1-year fixed term contract or internal secondment. This exciting role will help redesign, transform and automate the Councils approach to the redaction life cycle and will involve developing project plans, ensuring delivery to key milestones, collaboration with key stakeholders to understand their requirements, configuring the software accordingly, and ensuring a seamless transition to the new system.

You will act as the primary administrator, optimising performance and providing user support and training to ensure best practice is built into the implementation of the new system. This role is also crucial in maintaining GDPR compliance and improving information governance practices across both Councils.

You will be joining a driven, friendly, collaborative and high performing team, these are values and behaviors that you will need to continue to champion.

About the role and key responsibilities

You will lead the successful implementation of redaction software for Subject Access Requests (SAR) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, ensuring seamless integration and customisation. Your work will support GDPR compliance and enhance information governance processes.

As the Redaction Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the successful implementation of redaction software.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to assess their redaction needs and gather necessary information for software customisation.
  • Develop and execute a detailed project plan to ensure timely and efficient implementation of the software.
  • Customise and configure the redaction software to align with key stakeholders specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for users, empowering them to utilise the software effectively.
  • Act as the primary administrator for the software.
  • Provide ongoing user support, training and troubleshooting to ensure user satisfaction and software performance.
  • Develop redaction policies and staff guidance.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with data protection standards.
  • Collaborate with project board to maintain awareness of key deliverables and milestones.

About you

You'll need to have excellent experience of effectively managing and delivering projects with an enthusiasm for improving systems and processes. And specifically have experience of leading the implementation of software projects (ideally related to Information Governance and redaction).

You will need to demonstrate strong technical knowledge related to SAR's and FOI's, along with the ability to interpret and implement the redaction process in line with UK GDPR and best practice.

You'll enjoy working closely with colleagues and have the skills and confidence to draw out their needs and provide robust support. You will have the ability to use that knowledge alongside redaction best practice to customise and configure the software.

You will be an excellent communicator, well organised and able to prioritise your own workload to achieve your goals.
