Job Description

The Heathrow Employment and Skills Academy connects local residents to jobs and careers at Heathrow airport. It focuses on education and skills for young people and employment support for job seekers facing social barriers. The Academy supports Heathrow 2.0 for sustainable growth. The role involves leading recruitment services, understanding business needs, and managing a team to source and screen candidates from local communities. You will also provide employability skills support and manage relationships with external partners to ensure they understand the airport environment and Academy offerings.

This is 12 months secondment, and you will be based at Heathrow Skills and Employment Academy.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the employment and skills support service provided by the Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy for a diverse range of sectors across Team Heathrow, that includes the planning and implementation of targets, resource management, and line management of recruitment team.
  • Leading and managing ongoing relationships with existing and new recruitment accounts (Team Heathrow employer partners), as well as co-ordination of key employment and community partners such as Jobcentre Plus and local job brokerage organisations.
  • Taking accountability for managing the candidate recruitment journey which includes management of the portal (Eploy), ensuring job descriptions are inclusive and advertised in a timely manner, sourcing and screening of suitable candidates and activities such as mock interviews, essential skills assessments and CV advice guidance.
  • Managing, analysing and reporting data using Eploy / other relevant systems to track KPIs and maximise programme performance.
  • Working with the internal colleagues, Team Heathrow and community partners to co-ordinate and plan outplacement and recruitment activities/events.
  • Providing advice, guidance and information on fair pay, terms and conditions to Team Heathrow partners i.e. London Living Wage and Living Hours in line with our Heathrow 2.0 commitments.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the recruitment sector and labour market trends.
  • Experience in relationship management and employer engagement.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing teams.
  • Capability to communicate effectively and dynamically, employing suitable tone, language, and gestures to motivate and inspire action.
  • Ability to listen with empathy and evaluate various viewpoints to aid in decision-making and enhance relationships.
  • Capability to resolve intricate problems by formulating multiple alternatives.
  • Experience in developing and sharing insightful reporting to demonstrate progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Taking a data-driven approach to recruitment delivery, ensuring the continual accuracy of the ATS and proactively developing insights based on regular performance analysis.
  • Ability to work well with others and respect diversity of others' culture, beliefs and backgrounds.
